Many lectures at the Marketing Festival 2014 conference caught my attention. Some were motivational, some strengthened strategic thinking, some brought tips for improving and speeding up work, some demolished the naive and classic Czech nature. However, I was interested in the lecture by Dr. Peter Meyers. Peter compared SERP results for 10,000 queries on the Western market (represented by the US and UK) and the Eastern market (Czech Republic and Poland). And what was the result? More than a third of the search results on Google contain only 10 common results, without any other elements. In the west it is only a fifth.

Why probably? There's no denying that this type of structured Google results leads to better click-through rates. And often very significantly. That is why most Czech e-shops do not hesitate to use them. It is very likely that the average Czech user of the Google search engine has not yet noticed some of the above types of results, and perhaps they are new to him. In short, we only find some results in a very small percentage, more like a million of queries.
However, we do not see some types of results at all. Which are the results? image Extended answer box image Carousel with local results image Nested articles In short, Google's results will be richer and contain more information. I think these changes will not have a big impact on the traffic of the vast majority of websites. It is possible that this will affect encyclopedic sites, where many users will get the answer already in the search results. Most commercial entities will not be significantly affected by this. One big area that Google will want to link more in its search results is social media. People have been spending more and more time there in recent years. Social networks hide a large amount of content. In some Western markets, Google has recently deployed social media links in the knowledge graph. Which I think is the first step to bring Google closer to social networks other than its own Google plus.
